Mega tunage....



Ok, so last week I had the pleasure of supporting Grum at Killer Kitsch and we had a good chat about some of his latest remixes. I identified this as my most recent favourite, a lovely 80's inspired disco dub of Scottish native Pearl & The Puppets. Much like his remix of Lady Ga Ga he's elevated the vocals far beyond the relative safety of the original soundscape...

2010 was the summer dubstep went pop and while the purists may see this as the death of the genre's underground roots I think the exposure it's created can only be a good thing. After Magnetic Man's top 10 smash, Katy B's Benga produced 'On A Mission...' I think Dansette Junior's 'Paranoid' could be the next crossover. Produced by Drumsound & Bassline Smith, this gets a release on August 30th...

Up next...it's all about a return to form for LA Riots. I've found the whole electro house sound getting a bit stale recently but every so often something crops up which has a certain quality that makes it stand out. Here we have LA Riots remixing Ciara with a rising dub of her new single 'Ride'. Pitty Ciara is spouting shit all over it though.

You can always trust Riva Starr to beef something up a bit for the dancefloor, without doubt the hottest name in house music at the moment this is his tribal inspired remix of Adam Port & Sante's 'Own'. Continuing with the current trend of drums, percussion & bassline he takes the 10min original & injects it with added funk...
